Alpine meadow under the Aiguilles
The alpine meadows at the foot of these mountains are magnificent in early summer. Devoid of trees, they form a gentle slope of thick, lush grass where numerous cattle graze. They are covered with countless flowers forming a multicolored carpet, dotted with my favorites like these asters and clover flowers visible further in the image. The intense light bathing the three peaks was a beautiful surprise that evening, after they had spent the afternoon hidden in the fog.
