The Rallon cliffs rise in Bardena Blanca, the most central and impressive area of the Bardenas Reales badlands near Zaragoza. These geological formations are fascinating to observe and deeply inspire me - motivating this second visit to search for new compositions. Covered by a thin layer of soil that allows the small bushes characteristic of this semi-desert landscape to grow, they emerge where erosion has exposed the bare rock. Where I shot this picture, they form a series of small ridges whose texture resembles cream from afar. Recent rainfall has brought the colors to life, particularly emphasizing the red strata.
