Sea squill
Another image of this mountain in the southern Wadi Rum, accompanied by a delicate sea squill. I preferred to wait until the sun had completely set for this second photo, in order to take advantage of the indirect light that better revealed the red of the sand and allowed the colors to be truly at the center of this scene. The composition is more intimate and highlights a single plant, which contrasts with the arid environment. This picture truly represents for me what this desert is like during the blue hour. The colors are saturated, the silence is total except for the rare sound of wind passing between the cliffs – and occasionally one encounters a plant between the dunes and rocky expanses, a fragile testimony of life in this mineral landscape.
