Waiting for the storm
After a hike and a night partially spent under intense rain, the sunrise proved disappointing. As we were preparing to leave, clouds began to darken again while still allowing some light to filter through. While exploring the area in search of an interesting foreground, I came across these mountain avens (Dryas octopetala), characteristic Alpine flowers growing in cushion-like patches on a steep slope. I then waited for the storm to spread and fill almost the entire sky to capture that dramatic moment when only a bit of light still reached the mountains.
